Aiko's arm has the ability to feel physical sensation

This is the first generation prototype of Aiko's arm

It has the ability to move similar to a human arm with our uniquely designed joints. Most remarkably, Aiko’s arm can mimic physical sensation. Aiko can tell the difference between being touched gently, being hit or grabbed, and will react accordingly. The arm is currently being tested with the B.R.A.I.N.S software, and will be incorporated into Aiko’s body once testing is completed. Eventually, the touch sensation system will be integrated into all facets of Aiko’s skin and body.

In the future, this technology can be beneficial for people born with or who have undergone amputations. This is the first step toward a life-like mechanical limb that has the ability to feel physical sensation.
